Well I wasn't expecting that. Although Richard had obviously been on line, trying to help with parts for repairing the Civic, I didn't expect to be collecting a replacement a couple of weeks later.
Having gone through the figures, Richard & I decided that this would be the more cost effective option.
While I waited for the OK to collect the new car, I started the strip down on the old one,
beginning at the front. It didn't look any better with the bumper off.
Wanting to drain the fuel tank, I had to power up the pump,as it only runs for a few seconds when you turn the ignition on. The Hondata ECU came out next, followed by seats, belts, extinguishers
before making a start on the dash.
As I don't know just what we will transfer over to the new car, it just makes sense to take everything out before moving on to the suspension, engine and gearbox.
While I was taking the extinguishers out, I had a look underneath. The picture shows what used to be a chassis rail.
