James Shallcross continues his busy schedule with a trip to the Forrest of Dean for this weekends Kyrle Trial.
Reading the organisers bit below makes me think diesel & turbo & James has a spare car parked in our barn.
Ross & District Motor Sports Club has pleasure in welcoming you to the 35th running of The Kyrle Trial.
Prepare for sunshine, real hills and not too much mud, but perhaps a little wetter than 2011.
With Easter ever on the move it means that this year we are running just one week after the Lands End Trial. We will be sympathetic regarding the return of entry fees to anyone who breaks their car on the Lands End.
Derek Tyler, the Clerk of the Course, is now well into organising and this years Kyrle will be his third one.
We have had to make a slight increase in entry fee as the fees charged by the Forestry Commission and for Authorisation have increased. We now have to pay two separate fees for using roads in England and Wales.
The start will be at our usual spacious and well-equipped Whitchurch venue where fuel, a good café and ample parking is available. The finish of the trial is at our Club House in Ross-on-Wye where the good ladies, will be providing a meal. The bar will be open to help quench thirsts.
Come expecting some old and new hills, our hill selection very much depends upon the weather during the run up to the trial.
We again have an award for the best performance by a car ‘not powered by petrol’. No entrants for the last two years so why not come and try your diesel or battery powered car!
Please note the date, Sunday 15th April and come along to marshal if you cannot enter. Tom Baker will be pleased to hear from you at any time on 07795 278899.
We look forward to seeing you for a good day’s
