According to Richard, it's one of the problems with decision making that humans often take a line of least resistance & can be easily influenced by perceived difficulties, even if they are not and that was what happened to us at the port.
Cold & a bit damp, with the car still on the flatbed, we took the easy option ie go straight to Kamena Vourla where all manner of good things waited.
Having negotiated a price, [well done Richard, the driver hardly spoke a word of English, so no small challenge] to take us all the way, our driver then had to wait for 2 other drivers to arrive to accompany us.
So 5 up, we headed off. It was quite cosy, as the 2 other drivers were both on the large side & before long all 3 lit up the traditional Greek cigarettes. Now neither Richard nor I smoke, so the prospect of 4 or 5 hours in a confined space with lots of passive smoke was something to savour.
For some reason I had not expected there to be loads of snow in Greece, so was amazed at just how much there was as we drove away from the port.
The odd rain showers were presenting our driver with a few problems as there was no water in the washer bottle.
We eventually stopped at a mountainside cafe, which gave Richard & I a chance to get a bit of smoke free air, while the crew set about drinks & filling the washer bottle[thankfully] as it had been a bit of an issue at times.
We eventually arrived at The Galini Hotel at Kamena Vourls at about 5 o'clock & met up with Thanos who had brought along one of his 504 Coupes.
A great shame that the goodies were not as described.
