Following all the work needed to get James' 205 ready for last weekends Lake District epic it was reassuring to have very little to do before this weekends Chairman's trophy. One of those was changing the CV boot which had split on the event. Quite lucky that it did as it turns out.
Having taken the joint off to give it a good wash & get rid of all that mud & stuff, I noticed that the bearing cage had started to crack. Whether it was like it before, or the result of running at the weekend we will probably never know, just thankful that we found it before it failed.
In passing, & now bound to happen, James & I were remarking last week, that since we modified our bottom arms & changed to a 306 type bottom ball joint, we haven't changed a joint. Previously we needed new arms about every 3rd or 4th event.
