Having a sand blast cabinet is a great asset; when it's working. Over a period, it had become less & less effective & with a load of parts from the Peugeot 504 saloon in need of a good clean before painting, it was time for a little TLC.
A quick trawl on the web soon elicited that the company that had made ours had ceased trading about 10 years ago. More trawling & I hit on a very helpful man .
After a lesson on the workings of the machine, it was quite a simple job to check everything out & find that the problem was just what the very nice man had said it would be. Still it pays to check before laying out loads of money.
So with a new gun it was back to business as it used to be. Problem now was that as everything was working, the extraction system needed an overhaul. Just couldn't see a thing for all the sand & dust.
Still it might be good practice for sand storms on our trip to Cape Town.
